Artist, filmmaker, designer and all around nicest guy in Saint Louis, Jeremy Kannapell came out of semi musical retirement last night to don his Ghost Ice performance persona at Floating Laboratories. This clip is about six and a half minutes long. A section of the first of two pieces performed that night. It’s impossible to capture what Mr. Kannapell does to a room. The psycho acoustic pan job and the sheer air pushing swirl that is a Ghost Ice gig rarely translates outside of the moment in which it is sprung from the ether. Instead we are left with shakey phone camera and hi8 tapes from yesteryear as the only glimpse into this influential Saint Louis performers’ musical oeuvre. Tragically undocumented and sadly unrepresented on the physical mediums of cassette, CD or LP. The only known recording is a limited edition handmade split cassette with Brain Transplant.
